WÄINHAUS IN EHNEN
A vibrant hub of Moselle wine culture
The Wäinhaus is one of the most outstanding attractions of the Moselle region and serves as a cultural flagship for Luxembourg.
Prominently located on the Wäistrooss in Ehnen, the Wäinhaus shapes the Moselle-facing façade of the village’s historic and picturesque center. It brings together Moselle culture, winemaking tradition, and contemporary architecture in an exceptional ensemble.
The carefully restored Schultheiss houses, Wellenstein and Schëntgen, dating from the 16th to the 18th century, are combined with a modern new building to create a place that preserves history while inspiring new perspectives and momentum.
At the heart of the Wäinhaus lies an immersive journey through the wine-cultural landscape, modern wine production, and the history, culture, and lifestyle of the Moselle region. Interactive installations, innovative interpretation formats, and rotating exhibitions bring the significance of viticulture and regional identity to life.
The spacious wine shop, featuring around 160 Luxembourg wines and Crémants, provides a place of enjoyment and exchange for wine enthusiasts, connoisseurs, and curious visitors alike. From a tourism perspective, the Wäinhaus also sets new standards with its multifunctional event spaces for workshops, tastings, conferences, and banquets.
A media library and documentation areas offer deeper insights into viticulture and Moselle culture. An educational vineyard, a newly redesigned courtyard, and a bistro serving regional specialties further enrich the visitor experience.
In this way, the Wäinhaus establishes itself as a central tourist and cultural meeting point, strengthening the Moselle region and enhancing Luxembourg’s appeal with an attraction that draws attention far beyond the country’s borders.
