Artemis, goddess of the hunt and nature, adorns the Luxembourg crypto stamp and honours the richness and diversity of Luxembourg‘s landscapes and forests.

In Greek mythology Artemis was also the protector of animals, virgins and women in childbirth. As the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and twin sister of Apollo, she embodies independence and female strength. Whilst in earlier representations she was primarily associated with the hunt and protection, over time she also became connected with the moon.
