On 13 November 2024, a souvenir frame containing the stamp commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Coryciana was presented by Claude Balthasar,
Chef de Service Patrimoine & POST Philately, to Daniel Wirth, mayor of Koerich, in the presence of the graphic artist Myriam Schmit, who designed the stamp.
The Coryciana, a major work of world literature comprising 399 Latin epigrams published in Rome in 1524, was dedicated to Janus Corycius, which explains the name. Corycius was born around 1457 under the simple name of ‘Jang’ in Koerich, before latinising his name during his stay in Rome.
