Special stamp 100 years “Luxembourg Midwives Association”Block Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor
November 08, 2019
Charles V was born on 24 February 1500 in Prinzenhof, Ghent, in the Burgundian Netherlands and died on 21 September 1558. He was one of the most powerful rulers in European history and a member of the Habsburg dynasty. As the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, he ruled over areas in both Europe and America. Within his European territory, he had to focus primarily on the challenges of the religious conflicts between Catholicism and Protestantism.
POST Luxembourg issues for the Multilaterale exhibition a special stamp with Post Österreich on a mutually related theme. They have chosen the 500th anniversary of the date when the subsequent Emperor Charles V became Archduke of Austria.
