A special stamp and a sheet of two stamps of the young couple was issued in September 2012 to mark the engagement of Grand Duke heir apparent Guillaume to the Belgian Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy. This was announced on 26 April by the Grand Ducal court.
Prince Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie de Luxembourg-Nassau was born on 11 November 1981 in Luxembourg. Prince Guillaume is the eldest son of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa. He has four brothers and sisters: Prince Félix (1984), Prince Louis (1986), Princess Alexandra (1991), and Prince Sébastien (1992).
Stéphanie de Lannoy will be the future Grand Duchess of Luxembourg and the mother of the next heir apparent to the Grand Ducal crown.
She was born on 18 February 1984 in Ronse, a town located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. She is the youngest of eight children of Count Philippe de Lannoy and Countess Alix della Faille de Laverghem.
The future spouse of the Grand Duke heir apparent has four brothers: Jehan (1966), Christian (1968), Amaury (1971), and Olivier (1974) and three sisters, Nathalie (1969), Gaëlle (1970), and Isabelle (1976).
Prince Guillaume and Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy will be married on 20 October 2012 at Luxembourg Cathedral.
