The Moselle river forms the natural border between the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Germany. The Moselle river is 42 km long.
The Moselle Valley stretches between Schengen and Wasserbillig. The valley offers excellent views over the historical villages which integrate perfectly with contemporary architecture.
The region can be explored by boat or by bike along the river banks through picturesque Mosellean villages. The orchards and vineyards can also be explored on foot.
It was in the small village of Schengen where the European agreement enabling freedom of movement in Europe was signed in 1985.
