Description

This stamp shows a wheelwright, a specialist in wood and metal who made carts.

In the 19th century Luxembourg was predominantly a farming region. Each farmer had at least one cart. Traditionally made by hand by the wheelwright, carts and carriages disappeared with the advent of industrialisation and the appearance of garages.
