The Eurasian Lynx, is easily recognisable by its long legs, short tail and pointed ears. They will soon be reintroduced into Luxembourg.
The colour of its coat varies from creamy white to dark brown. Small black spots can be full spots or rosettes. The Eurasian lynx has a particularly dense coat, notably on the back.
The scientific name of the Eurasian lynx is Lynx Lynx.
Felids, or felines, share many of the same characteristics. They have fewer teeth than other animals, and their jaw can only move vertically. They have retractable claws used to inflict wounds and excellent night vision.
They are hunters at heart, eating a carnivorous diet, and are highly adept at running and jumping.
