Series Europa

Description

The EUROPA issue is a joint annual postage stamp issue with a common design or theme carried out by the postal administrations of the member states of the European Union. The first edition arrived on 15 September 1956. In order to promote the Europa issues with philatelists, PostEurop created an annual “Best Europa Stamp” competition in 2002. In 2016, for the 60th anniversary of the EUROPA issues, the theme is “Think green, Ecology in Europe”.

On 18 June 2016, the theme will be presented through a joint event with Luxembourgian, German and Belgian post office and philately partners which will take place in Arzfeld and Asselborn with special post offices, special stamp issuances, stands of the specific philately associations, etc.
