Jean “John” Grün was born on 27 August 1868 in Bad Mondorf and died on 3 November 1912 in Ettelbrück. He was a Luxembourgian strongman, better known as “Herkul”. At the time, Grün was probably the most famous Luxembourger in the world due to his public appearances in America and Europe. In 1897, Grün became one of the largest attractions, appearing in the “Grand Théâtre Fernando” at the Schueberfouer.
