Over the next four years, we will be presenting the beauty of the Luxembourg Moselle region. Because this region on the Luxembourg borders to Germany and France has plenty to offer both culturally and historically. Every year, the four designs will illustrate a particular feature. To make the presentation even more varied, the production technique used will vary from year to year.
We will be dedicating the first year to a subject that everyone is bound to associate directly with the Moselle, wine who is gaining more and more recognition internationally.
Anne Mélan, artist and graphic designer
Anne Mélan has already illustrated various designs for stamps. At her workshop in the cultural centre Kreativzentrum 1535° in Differdange, she works using various painting techniques. With her detailed, realistic style, the young Luxembourger achieves a very vivid depiction in her works.
« Of course, I have often visited this region. Although it was only when I visited to study the details of the grape varieties that I discovered just how different they are. The leaves especially are different in each variety; I would never have thought so before » Anne Mélan.
